UGANDA RESTORATION DOCUMENTARY PROJECT
Your help is urgently needed to support this projectt for the documentation of the work of
Restoration Gateway in northern Uganda. Restoration
Gateway was launched in 2006 to enable the orphaned children of Uganda to regain their dignity and rebuild their lives. The efforts of this
faith-based initiative have expanded to provide homes, churches, clean water,
health care, and education to as many Ugandans as possible. Strategically located in northern Uganda, Restoration Gateway is
rebuilding the indigenous society destroyed by decades of activity by the
Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA). The
founders of Restoration Gateway, Dr. Tim and Janice McCall, have established a
500-acre compound overlooking the Nile River as headquarters for their mission
to Uganda. In a short period of time,
Restoration Gateway has made miraculous progress in healing the hearts and
bodies of northern Uganda and rebuilding a society that has been completely
destroyed. (Read more about Restoration
Gateway below or visit restorationgateway.com.)
Although Restoration Gateway has benefited from
numerous small donations, it has been mostly self-funded by the McCalls. This project will document the activities of
Restoration Gateway and publicize them through one or more documentary films
and articles in newspapers, travel publications, and religious publications in
order to publicize the amazing work that is being done and subsequently
generate additional financial support. Funding is being requested for a three-person team (researcher/writer,
photographer, film producer) from Arkwings Foundation to compile material,
prepared documentation/scripts/ articles, and produce one or more films. In addition, material will be developed for
submission to grant-making organizations. Data collection is scheduled for October of this year with production of
manuscripts for publication by the end of 2009 and completion of film
production early in 2010.
To make your donation to this project you can
use the PayPal feature on the Arkwings site or mail your donation to
Arkwings Foundation, Dept. RG, 3209 Cloar Cove, Memphis, TN 38111. Donations are tax deductible and each donor
will be listed as a sponsor of any documentary film produced.
